In-house finance & accounting specialist
Are you the kind of finance person who sleeps better when every account is reconciled and every report is spot on?
Do you want end-to-end responsibility for the numbers in a growing consulting company, in an informal, trust-based culture with freedom, humor and close collaboration with the business where your voice really matters?
If so, Aptio Group wants to meet you!
About the Role
We’re seeking an in-house finance & accounting specialist to be the person who keeps our finances running smoothly.
You will own the day-to-day bookkeeping, controlling, balance and reporting for a small but busy consulting company with many relatively simple transactions. Your mission is clear: make sure everything is correct, up to date and delivered on time – every month.
This is not a CFO role and there is no strategic finance agenda to juggle. It’s a hands-on operational role where you make sure:
every transaction is posted correctly
reconciliations are done
balances are right
and management can rely 100% on the reports you produce
Key Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and posting of all financial transactions.
Perform account reconciliations and ensure correctness of the balance sheet.
Prepare monthly closing and management reporting.
Prepare financial statements for auditors.
Maintain and improve finance processes and controls so data quality stays high.
Manage invoices, payments, expenses and bank reconciliations.
Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g. auditor, tax authorities) when needed.
Ensure timely and accurate VAT, tax and statutory reporting in collaboration with our external partners.
Monitor cash flow basics and highlight issues or trends to management.
Drive small improvements in tools, templates and routines so things get easier over time.
About You
You are structured, detail-oriented and enjoy being the one who “has the numbers under control”. You prefer a role where you can do the work yourself instead of just commenting on it from a distance.
We imagine that you:
Have a background in accounting, finance or similar – for example as accountant, controller, bookkeeper or finance specialist.
Bring several years of hands-on experience with bookkeeping and closing (in a small or mid-sized company is a plus).
Are comfortable working almost end-to-end in finance – from posting to reporting.
Know your way around standard accounting systems and Excel.
Work in a very structured and disciplined way, with strong attention to detail.
Take ownership: if something is missing or unclear, you chase it down and fix it.
Communicate clearly and pragmatically with both consultants and management.
Are motivated by running a clean, reliable and timely finance setup.
If you like being “the safe pair of hands” that everyone trusts when it comes to the numbers, you’ll thrive in this role.
It would also be an advantage if you can manage payroll system runs and has both the knowledge and interest to stay up to date in this area.
Why Join Aptio Group
At Aptio Group, you will:
Get a central role in a growing consulting company.
Have clear ownership for finance and accounting – and the freedom to shape good routines.
Work closely with management and see the impact of your work directly.
Be part of a down-to-earth, professional and informal culture.
Have a stable, long-term role with solid responsibility and no politics.
